The Certificate of Quality is the highest confirmation and prove of product quality and production organisation and management system. This is often not required by law for a construction product (except for fire doors), but increase the ranking of the product and for doors is a specific passport and safety warrantor, both physical and legal safety, not only for the user, but also for a design company and contractor. Currently A60 fire resistant doors for marine applications are subject to obligatory certification. In this case, apply quite different standards and regulations than those of civil engineering that specify door features, range of application and requirements. The basic document covering 7 product groups for the marine industry is Directive 96/98/CE called MED (Marine Equipment Directive) that requires conformity to which to be certified. According to the MED Directive, the manufacturer is obliged and authorized to mark products with so called steering wheel mark as confirmation of conformity.
