What is ISO 9000?
Briefly speaking it is a series of standards designed for quality management systems. Following these standards indicates that the workers respect the rules of quality management system, set and introduced by an organization and working according to certain procedures and instructions.
The first projects of introducing a complex System of Quality Management in DONIMET appeared a few years ago. At the beginning we designed and introduced our own system of quality but soon we noticed some imperfections because it did not cover all the aspects of our firm operating. We must emphasise that from that time the customers' needs were the central point of our attention. The aim of DONIMET was not only an increase in profit but first of all providing our customers with a satisfying product. This could be done through constant development of our firm. The system proved to be not efficient enough for us to be used for a longer time.
We found the right solution by chance. When the management of Warka Brewery decided to introduce the Quality Management System ISO 9001: 2000, we had a possibility of familiarising with PN-EN ISO 9001 standards.
That was a shot in the bull's-eye and something that our firm really needed. In the centre of attention there are customer's needs. To meet these demands there are special procedures required by Standards, including the entire production process, from designing to validation and production, sale, guarantee and post guarantee service.
At the begining of 2001, after "Budma 2001" Fairs in Poznan, we made the decision to introduce the Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 9001: 2000 Standard. When making this important decision we also took into consideration the fact that Poland was about to join the European Union.
>From the very beginning we became convinced that without one hundred percent commitment of all our workers it would be impossible to successfully introduce the new system. How to induce everyone to make an effort, to work after hours and do something that does not directly influence their salaries? We managed to achieve this thanks to our management and a wonderful consultant from a Dutch consulting company. We became convinced that unusual people and professionals work in Donimet. Without their knowledge, desire to get to know new things, their enthusiasm and satisfaction from the firm's successes - it would be imposible to accomplish what we have accomplished.
The Quality Management System in some areas covered appropriate procedures and instructions, which were used in the previous structure od the firm. In some areas, however, it was revolutionary. The Book of Quality, that we created, became the bible of our firm, and the Policy of Quality, known to our personnel, became a route marker for our actions.
Our Book of Quality written according with Standards includes all areas of life of our organisation, without any exclusions in the system. In the Book of Quality there are nine complementary procedures:

Quality records supervision
Inspection of the system by the management
Training
Purchases - evaluation of suppliers and performing purchases
Check meter supervision
Internal audits
Incompatible product supervision
Corrective and preventive activities
plus appropriate production Processes and Instructions.
12.02.2002, became a critical date in the history of Donimet, when our firm underwent a certifying audit carried by Bureau Veritas Quality International, a Certifying Agency which offers certificates renowned in the world market licensed according with German, Dutch, British, American, Polish accreditation, etc. To the customers of this prestigious agency belong companies like: IBM, Siemens, Rolls-Royce, Goodyear, Mitsubishi, Shell and many more.

ISO in Donimet is nothing else than creation of an environment suitable for providing the customers with products or services of the expected quality. Introduction of ISO standards guarantees that Donimet will keep all the promises, made in its product offer.
